Happy 4th of July

I hope everone had a great holiday!

Rocket Man and I started our holiday by going on a date. Yes, April, another date! We went to see the movie WANTED, because both Rocket Man and I are Angelina Jolie fans. It was a good movie, but nothing will ever compare to her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider movies. Rocket Man and I have played all of the Tomb Raider games,or should I say, he played them while I watched and gave helpful advise. After the movie we walked around Bridge Street, then had lunch at Connor's Steak House.

This evening we prepared for our private family fireworks show. Here you see the novelty fireworks we purchased. Bayba and Lil Slip were so excited I had to keep shooing them out of the office.

After firing all of these, we got ready for the big show. Rocket Man saved 42 shells from our party. Here is what we do: he numbers each shell, and I write down the number and the name of the firework. For example: red peony, sea blue peony, gold chrysathemum. Using 2-way radios, I call out the name of each firework and then Walt lights them. Unfortunately, my camera cannot take firework photos or videos. But I do have a couple of videos of the novelty fireworks. First up, our pyro dog, Charlie (aka Weasel Dog).

The whining you hear is not Charlie being hurt by the firework, but Rocket Man forcing him to go back into his pen.

Here is a butterfly firework.

I hope everyone was able to enjoy some fireworks today. Now I have try to get my girls wound down for bedtime. I guess the smell of black powder gets them all excited like it does their father. They are, after all, their father's daughters.

Oh man. So YALL must have been the amazing fireworks I was seeing :) There were a few people who were really beautifully coordinated this time. :) No economy effecting firework purchases. haha:)

We went to Bridgestreet to watch their show, and it was ok, but nothing great. Then we got in the car and drove over to Joe Davis and caught that one. Much better.
