Painted Ornaments

Here are some painted ornaments that I made a couple of years ago. These are the smaller round 2.16 inch ornaments. I have used the larger ones also, but I really like these small ornaments better. I don't have pictures of the process, but I will attempt to describe how I made these.

You will need 3 colors of paint. One color at a time, drip 3 lines of paint inside the ornament. Then you just rotate the ornament every 15 minutes or so until all the colors mix. If you get too much paint, you will get a muddy look, just turn the ornament upside down over a small cup and let the excess paint drip out.

3 colors of paint is optimal. 2 is not enough and 4 are too many. Sometimes you may find that some colors don't flow together well. I can't remember which colors I used that didn't turn out well, sometimes you just have to experiment.

I bought some new ornaments last week, and I have a new idea for them. I will be sure to photodocument the process when I make them.

Cute! Someone just told me another way to do that also, but it was a dry inbetween color process.

I was told that a certain brand of paint is best for this over the others. It's the Delta Creamcoat.

Not a problem on the the teens... I took my other post down because no one commented, and I thought, wow, I must have sounded like an idiot! I know I always whine about them, but they really are fun! I just thought I probably do need to say something good about teens, but then I decided not to keep it up! I know alot of people who are anxious about their kids hitting those years. I bought some clear ornaments and all of my paint just ran to the bottom and sat there over night so I'm really angry and frustrated. They looked really pretty and when I got up the next morning they looked horrible. So I don't even want to talk about the ornaments, ha. I kept turning them so I don't know why they did that?
