Groceries on a Budget

Let me start by saying I HATE GROCERY SHOPPING! Because I love my family, I do it. Tuesday evening Lil Slip and I went to the grocery store. She was excited to have Mommy all to herself. (Rocket Man and Bayba had a father/daughter date.) Rocket Man has had me on a strict grocery budget for several months. I actually don't mind that part, it prevents me from buying junk food! Rocket Man gave me $140.00, and my total was $141.71. So I pulled out the $140 he gave me, and I luckily had a dollar bill in my wallet. Now for the 71 cents. I had a quarter, a dime, and a few pennies in my wallet. I needed another quarter and another dime. So I am frantically digging in my purse for loose change. I think to myself, "If I have to put something back because I don't have 71 cents I will be so embarassed!" Happily, I found a quarter and a dime at the bottom of my purse. I was relieved!

I like to buy the variety pack of chips for the girls. Currently in the brand I buy you receive either a dollar or a coupon inside the package. Last week I scored a dollar! It is currently laying on the counter beside my van key. Rocket Man said, "You better put that dollar in your purse. You might need it next week!"

I feel your pain! We've gone the strict budget way, too.
